“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”~ Teddy Roosevelt
I find that I sometimes forget to remember the simplicity of this statement. So often I find that folks (myself included) get lost in the drive to create a marvelous future for themselves by abdicating the marvelous that is occurring in their life right here-and-now. The marvelous Now IS the leading edge for the future, undoubtedly. I encourage everyone (including myself) to look at what one can do right here and right now. Look at what one has right here, right now. Use imaginative resources to expand the capabilities of the doing and having that exist Now. Reflect how once upon a time those doings and havings were once thought to be ‘impossible’ or at least pretty-much unattainable. Ha! Fooled self, did ya?! The degree, that job, the relationship that was once ‘future’ is Now. What is being thought of today about future….begins where you are. “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” Bully !!
There’s no San Juan Hill that cannot be dealt with! You have the tools, or access to them. Your ‘You’ today was the future not too long ago. Remember to remember. Be here Now.
Feel free to share your thoughts.
