“Before we can receive the unbiased truth about anything,we have to be ready to ignore what we would like to be true.”
~ Ann Davies.
Ohhhh. But I like what-I-would-like-to-be-true! You mean I would have to potentially (or probably….ha!) have to change my mind? The way I live? My interactions with other creatures on this planet???? Bummer!! Don’t know if I want to go That far just for real “truth, justice, and The Way.”
Huh. That may mean the teachers-of-my-past (social, cultural, religious-and-faith-based, familial, psychological, financial, medical, ….and yes, even recreational) may not have been completely unbiased. Most likely unintentionally. (For they had teachers-of-their-past too.)
Take heart. There may be many (some? a few??) truths you hold that truly are ‘the unbiased truth.’ How cool is that?! They are, and further become, your True you.
Until …. a deeper understanding arises and is shared. Ask (if you could) Ptolemy, or any of the ancient Greek and Chinese philosophers and scientists, Sumerians, Babylonians, and Vikings. Their Truth was. Until it wasn’t.
Mine is too. Until it isn’t.
New discoveries abound each and every day. New discoveries about previous ‘truths’ do too.
Give yourself the Gift: unwrap the delightful new surprise.
As a side note: For those deep, deep resonances ~ not of head or heart, spoken language or the primary senses ~ yet of Spirit ~ embrace them as truths. (Not because someone else ‘told you’ you should.) (BIG difference.) Embrace then Because ~ you have a knowing ~ maybe as yet unscientific or proven in earth-language ~ yet you-soul know.
Give yourself the Gift: be open ~ stay open.
Namaste’.
